Indian National Congress won again, extending its winning streak, though its own seat count slipped slightly from last time.

The INC won 35 of the 60 seats on offer.

It has now won 4 elections in a row.

Its nearest rival, the Nagaland Peoples Council, trailed with 17 seats.

INC kept its winning streak alive, even as its own support and seat count eased back slightly from before.

Its vote share — the slice of all ballots cast that went to one party or candidate — rose to 46.0%.

Statewide turnout — the share of registered voters who actually cast a ballot — also reached a new high for the state, at 90.9%.

That came even as the party's own seat count eased from 36 to 35.

A few numbers from the results stand out on their own.

Impur, Nagaland had the tightest finish of the election, decided by a margin — how far ahead the winner finished, in votes, over whoever came second — of just 21 votes.

At the other extreme, Mokokchung Town, Nagaland saw the widest margin of the election in percentage terms, at 96.3% — one of the most one-sided results anywhere that year.

Tamlu, Nagaland recorded the highest turnout of any seat, at 99.9%.

Ghaspani-I, Nagaland had the largest electorate of any seat, with 50,744 registered voters.

This kept INC in office, continuing its run of consecutive election wins in the state assembly.
