A landslide, and record turnout

Tripura's governing left-led party won a landslide, extending its time in office.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 46 of the 60 seats — well clear of a majority.
The Indian National Congress trailed far behind, with just 10 seats.
The CPM took 48.0% of the vote share — the slice of all ballots cast that went to one party or candidate.
What changed
This election also set a new turnout record for the state.
About 92.3% of registered voters turned out to cast a ballot — the highest share the state's elections had recorded up to that point.
7 seats swung from the INC to the CPM along the way.
Notable numbers
A few numbers from that election stand out.
The closest race was Kulai, Tripura, decided by just 115 votes.
Ramchandraghat, Tripura went the other way, with the winner ahead by 33.2% of the vote.
Khowai, Tripura posted the single highest turnout anywhere, at 95.8%.
The most crowded contest was Fatikroy, Tripura, with 8 candidates on the ballot.
